Comparative Study of Electoral Systems
A public conference of the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (www.CSES.org) will take place at the Maritim proArte Hotel Berlin on October 9-10, 2014.
CSES is a collaborative program of research among election study teams from around the world. Participating countries include a common module of survey questions in their post-election studies. The resulting data are deposited along with voting, demographic, district, and macro variables. The studies are then merged into a single, free, public dataset for use in comparative study and cross-level analysis.
Since the founding conference in 1994 at the WZB, the number of participating countries has continuously grown from about 25 to more than 50.
About 65 representatives of national elections studies from about 40 countries worldwide will be meeting at Berlin in October 2014. They will discuss different aspects of comparative electoral research and the state of the art of election studies in different countries.
