Presentation of the A.SK Social Science Award to Paul Collier
The A.SK Social Science Award 2013 will be granted to Paul Collier, professor of economics at the University of Oxford.
The event will take place on Saturday, 19 October 2013, 1 p.m. at the WZB. The laudatory speech will be held by Klaus Töpfer. Before the event there will be a concert matinee (11 a.m. to 12 noon).
The A.SK Social Science Award is connected with a price money of 100.000 Euros. It honors outstanding contributions to questions of social and political reforms. Earlier price recipients are the British economist Sir Anthony Atkinson (2007), the American professor of Law and Philosophy Martha C. Nussbaum (2009) and the anti-corruption organisation Transparency International (2011).
In addition, the following five postdoc scholars will receive the A.SK Fellowship: Daniel Tischer (University of Manchester), Rami Zeedan (Haifa), Olga Ulybina (Cambridge), Josef Hien (Max-Planck-Institut für Gesellschaftsforschung Köln) und Theresa Reinold (WZB/New York University).
