Herbert Docena is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the University of California at Berkeley. He was WZB-International Social Science Council (ISSC) global fellow for the year 2015 in the research unit Global Governance (June–December). His research interests lie in the intersection of political sociology, sociology of culture, sociology of science, globalization and international relations. Originally from the Philippines, he hopes that his research will contribute to a deeper understanding of the obstacles to effectively addressing climate change at the global level.
