WZB Honorary Fellowships

Since 2019, the President of the WZB and its directors award Honorary Fellowships to persons making lasting contributions to the WZB.

Sir Peter Jonas CBE 

Sir Peter Jonas was a member of the Board of Trustees of the WZB since 2015. He has played a key role in shaping the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, most recently through the cooperation with the Barenboim-Said Academy on the occasion of the WZB's 50th anniversary. Since 2006, he has repeatedly encouraged new bridges between the arts, humanities and social sciences, among others with the event series "TV, Economy and Society".

As one of the world's leading cultural managers, Sir Peter Jonas was artistic director of the Bavarian State Opera, general director of the English National Opera and chairman of the German Opera Conference.
